It seems like there are growing bodies of evidence suggesting that kimchi is associated with gastric cancer. Will the Korean government restrict or even ban kimchi? Kimchi is such a fundamental staple in Korean food. It defines Korean food. Many Koreans could not imagine eating a meal without kimchi.
Perhaps the fear regarding cancer isn't strong enough.
